Heaten today announced that its board of directors has appointed Peter P. Breithaupt as its new chief executive officer, effective June. 1, 2021. Pending the lift of Covid travel restriction, Breithaupt will join the Heaten team in Kristiansand as soon as possible.

“Peter P. Breithaupt is a highly respected corporate entrepreneur with more than 3 decades of technology and leadership experience. He has gone already through the full cycle of developing start-up’s while securing support & funding from investors and large corporations”, said Knud C. Petersen, Chairman of Heaten AS. “Throughout his career he is recognized as a team player that rapidly assesses technologies and innovative business concepts with the objective to turn ideas into opportunities; by doing so motivating others to share and contribute to a business’ mission and vision.

Most recently, Breithaupt worked at Shell New Energies and with Shell Ventures, where he developed new product and service opportunities for residential and industrial energy storage and power-to-heat business concepts. Prior to re-joining Shell, Breithaupt was the first CEO of Grunneger Power, a citizen-owned energy cooperation, bootstrapping a social enterprise from first idea to successful energy utility. Before joining Grunneger Power, Breithaupt spent 6 years at N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie as Project Director M&A, executing large infrastructure deals. During his first period at Shell, Breithaupt was Global Technical & General Manager of Shell Energy Efficiency, a customer-oriented industrial energy service company. Early in his career Breithaupt spent 10 years in combustion and energy efficiency R&D and services. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering.

Central theme in Peter’s career is his personal and business engagement to realize feasible transition paths to a sustainable energy future. His commitment for industrial engagements as business development & general manager, strategy & business advisor and corporate entrepreneur stems from his conviction that huge business opportunities can be unlocked at the fertile intersection of business and the environment.,

Peter initiated and executed a large variety of corporate investment deals from early due diligence of technology-driven start-up‘s to large infrastructure merger & acquisition, totaling investments of more than 2 billion dollar.
